I already knew I liked this family before I even met them. In their pre-session questionnaire, their mum wrote that she wanted to have something that shows the love between them and how special her boys are. Her words were so filled with love for her sons and I could tell straight away how much they adored each other.
Connection and belonging are my favourite things to capture in a family photo shoot, and I knew this shoot was going to be oozing with them!
Add to that, our location was the Hamilton Inline Hockey Club. Both the boys play inline hockey there, so it was the perfect setting for this family photography shoot. I love doing sessions at locations that have some meaning to the family, and they are even better when they have room for the children to unleash and really be themselves.
Both the boys and their mum were a bit nervous about having a photo shoot and weren’t quite sure what to expect. I assured them that I am extremely scary to work with and make things as awkward and uncomfortable as possible! ;-)
We spent some time getting to know each other, got them all to let loose and be silly for a while, and ended up having a blast. You can see from the photos how much fun we had. There is so much personality in these photos, and I love how clearly they show how much they belong together. As an added bonus, we got some fun photos of the boys in action in all their hockey gear.
